UNLV Women’s Golf continues to move up the National rankings and are now 33rd as of Feb. 12, 2025. The team moved up several spots after a terrific event to tee off the Spring 2025 season.
Behind top-10 finishes by seniors Toa Yokoyama and Mayumi Umezu, the Rebels finished second after Tuesday’s final round of the San Diego State Classic at The Heights Golf Club (Par 72, 6,356 yards).
Yokoyama placed third with a 6-under 210 and Umezu tied for sixth with a 4-under 212 to lead a Rebel lineup that saw all five players finish in the top 35. The duo shot matching final-round scores of even-par 72 and was joined by Rebel sophomore Zi Yu Foong at even-par 72 on the day.
In the team standings, the Scarlet & Gray (+1) landed only behind team champion in No. 1 Stanford and was one of three teams that had at least two players shoot sub-par scores through 54 holes. The only other team with multiple individuals finishing beneath the par threshold for the two-day event, Georgia (+12) came in third.
