UNLV Men’s Golf Finishes Runner Up at Mountain, Eyes NCAA Berth

Your UNLV golfin’ Rebels continued their solid play powered by a trio who shot under par for
the third straight day to finish runner up at the 2025 Credit 1 Mountain West Golf
Championships at Emerald Valley Golf Club. It was the Rebels best finish at the MWC in six
years.

The team now will focus on the NCAA Selection Show on Golf Channel April 30 to determine
their NCAA Regional fate.

With the performance at the conference event, UNLV has now notched eight top-6 team
performances during the 2024-25 season.

Sophomore Zach Little recorded a career-low round at 8-under 64 after also dropping in nine of
the Rebels’ 24 birdies on the MW event’s final 18 holes. Also adding under-par scores were
junior Wyatt Plattner at 4-under 68, who eagled hole No. 7, and senior Trevor Lewis at 1-under
71. Making up the rest of the round’s scorecard, senior Caden Fioroni shot an even-par 72.

Little paced the Scarlet & Gray’s three top-10 individual finishes, climbing 10 spots into third
place with a career-low tournament score at 13-under 203. Fioroni and Plattner joined him in
the top 10 as they tied for ninth at 8-under 208, which was also Plattner’s new career-best 54-
hole score. Rounding out the lineup, Lewis tied for 30th at even-par 216 and junior Brett Sawaia
tied for 33rd at 1-over 217.

As a team, the Rebels made a one-spot jump for the second consecutive round and ended the
conference championship at 31-under 833 through 54 holes. Additionally, by way of its higher
finish than eighth-place UNR, the Scarlet & Gray also clinched three points in the Silver State
Series presented by America First Credit Union.
