They are backing chasing the second NCAA title in team history. The UNLV men’s golf team will
make its 33rd NCAA postseason appearance as the 6th seed at the Urbana Regional hosted by
Illinois at Atkins Golf Club from May 12-14.
The top five teams and the top individual at the 54-hole tournament will advance to the NCAA
Championship at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, being held May 23-28.
“It’s been a really good year all-around,” said UNLV head coach Jean-Paul Hebert. “We’ve had
some really good individual and team play. We’ve traveled to different parts of the country
throughout the year to prepare for regionals. Qualifying for regionals is one of our goals and an
expectation on our part, but it’s also not something we’d ever take for granted either. We’re
excited about it, and we just want to keep the pedal down and keep building.”
The field is headlined by top-seeded Oklahoma State, No. 2 seed North Carolina, the No. 3
seed Illini, No. 4 seed Texas Tech and No. 5 seed Long Beach State. Out of those teams, four
squads are ranked in the Scoreboard Powered by Clippd top-25 rankings, including the second-
ranked Cowboys, the 10th-ranked Tar Heels, Illinois at 14th and the Red Raiders at 23rd.
During the 2024-25 campaign, the Rebels notched eight top-6 team performances including
first-place finishes at SMU’s Trinity Forest Invitational and Hawai’i’s John A. Burns
Intercollegiate. Additionally, two Rebels earned individual medalist honors with Caden Fioroni’s
victory at the Southern Highlands Collegiate and Zach Little’s win at the Burns Intercollegiate.
