This Incoming UNLV Men’s Golfer Just Won Prestigious 2025 French Amateur

Aaron Van Hauwe, a 2025-26 recruit for UNLV men’s golf, won the prestigious French Amateur in 2025. He kept the title in the family.

Van Hauwe wrote the following on Instagram after the victory:

“Super happy to have won this prestigious competition 25 years after my father!!! I want to thank @centre_de_perf for all the effort they put in for me every day, the @ffgolf who make it possible for us to play in these amazing competitions, my family — it’s thanks to them that I am where I am — and the Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche golf club for all your support and your messages.”

UNLV head coach Jean-Paul Hebert is thrilled Van Hauwe will be a Rebel.

“Aaron is a passionate player that loves to compete,” said Hebert. “He has a well-traveled game, has succeeded around the world and will be a nice addition to a competitive group of Rebels.”

Van Hauwe, who hails from Tours, France, has excelled at tournaments in his home country and other international competitions. Among his best outings, he finished as runner-up at the 2024 Hauts de France-Pas de Calais Golf Open and 2023 Grand Prix Du Lys Chantilly, third at the 2024 Grand Prix de Moliets and tied for seventh at the Internationaux de France – Coupe Gordon Benett.
