The Matthew S. Anderson Swing for Scholarships Benefit will take place Thursday, February 26, from 5:00–8:00 PM at Topgolf Las Vegas, supporting multiple scholarship funds for students in the UNLV PGA Golf Management University Program. While the event is named in honor of Matthew S. Anderson, its reach extends across the College of Hospitality, helping students reduce financial barriers and prepare for careers in teaching, leadership, and golf operations. For many participants, scholarships are the difference between simply enrolling and fully engaging in the program’s hands-on learning, internships, and professional development opportunities.
Formerly a full-day golf tournament, this year’s benefit shifts to an engaging evening reception designed to welcome even more supporters, alumni, and partners. Guests of all experience levels can participate through open-play bays, skill challenges, hosted food and beverage, fundraising activations, and direct interaction with PGM students serving as ambassadors. The goal is not just fundraising, but also giving supporters a chance to meet the students whose careers are directly shaped by these opportunities..
Students receiving these scholarships highlight how it directly impacts them in their career aspirations and education. “Receiving the Troon DEI Scholarship is more than financial support. It’s a reminder that my story, my background, and my passion for growing the game truly matter,” said UNLV student, Jordyn Cline. Kevin Banks, UNLV student, added, “The Troon DEI Scholarship has been a huge blessing in my life. It’s helped relieve financial stress and allowed me to feel more comfortable and confident in continuing my education.” By joining us, you help expand access and create meaningful opportunities for the next generation of industry professionals.
