Boulder Creek Golf Club is the unofficial home away from home of the South Dakota State men’s and women’s golf programs. In March 2025, the team won their home event, the Jackrabbit Invitational, played at the course. Here’s the women’s story and also of Mackenzie Mages, who was low medalist.
Powered by a first-place finish by McKenzie Mages, the South Dakota State women’s golf team won the team title at the Spring Jackrabbit Invite Tuesday afternoon.
Mages finished 3-under par for the tournament. The junior posted a 66 (-6) during the first round and used that near-school record to maintain her lead through the event. Mages also went under par on her last lap, firing a 71 (-1).
Piper Stubbs was also a top-10 finisher. Her 219 (+3) was good for seventh place in the standings. Stubbs also put together an impressive round, tallying a 68 (-4) for her second lap Monday.
Molly O’Hara and Reese Jansa finished in a tie for 19th place (225, +9) while Shakira-Ann Kuys tied for 36th place (228, +12).
