Professional Dream Continues for Las Vegas Golfer with Epson Tour Victory

Yana Wilson, 18, earned her first professional title at the Reliance Matrix Championship presented by Epson in her hometown of Las Vegas and at the historic Spanish Trail Country Club. The former Coronado High School golfer and Southern Nevada Junior Golf Assocaition member won by two-shots for the milestone victory early in her career.

Wilson took control on Saturday with an 8-under 64 and followed with a solid 4-under 68 on Sunday to clinch the win. In the final round, Wilson made three birdies on the front nine before recording her first bogey in 30 holes.

Playing in Las Vegas meant a lot to Wilson.

“It means the world to win here in Las Vegas,” said Wilson. “This is where I grew up, where I learned the game, and to have my first Epson Tour win happen at home in front of my family and friends—it’s something I’ll never forget …  There were a lot of people that came out that I didn’t even know would come out. They didn’t really say anything, so it was actually really cool to see all of them. My seventh-grade history teacher actually came out with her husband, so that was pretty cool. It was just great having them out there.”

Mohan Du made a strong push in the final round, firing a 6-under 66 on Sunday after delivering a 7-under 65 on Saturday. In her first Epson Tour appearance since 2022, Du quickly made her presence felt, applying steady pressure on Wilson throughout the weekend.

Wilson now plays in the LPGA Tour Mizuho Open, becoming the first junior champion to be in the big field.
