Esteban Toledo came from nothing to becoming a PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions winner. It all came from hard work, faith, dedication, and some help from others. Toledo has never forgotten where he came from and created the Esteban Toledo Family Foundation to help others like him. In part because of a benefit golf event at Reflection Bay Golf Club in Henderson, Nevada, Toledo helps orphans in his native Mexico. And in 2025, Francisco became the first person from Toledo’s orphanage to graduate. He earned a Mechanical Engineering degree.
On April 21-22, 2025, the annual Esteban Toledo Family Foundation Golf Classic will be played at the stunning Reflection Bay Golf Club in Henderson, Nev., a suburb of Las Vegas. Once again, Toledo and his donors will be there to make a difference for a generation of orphans from Toledo’s native Mexico. Contact Jay Miller 714-402-0770 or E-mail Jay@sterlinggolf.com to play.
“It was really amazing,” said Toledo about the graduation of Francisco. “It was something that I never experienced before and I told the kids, you can do it the same as he did. What Francisco taught all the kids was that with faith and discipline, absolutely everybody can do it. Francisco was probably a non-believer and he didn’t believe he had it in himself to do what he did. I had to teach him how to do it because I did it. When he called me last week and he said, ‘Esteban, can you come over? I am getting a diploma on Thursday and can you come over as my father to be here?’ I took all of the orphanage kids to that presentation and it means a lot to him, to us. It’s the message that we are giving to the world is that anybody can escape. All the kids saw it. I asked them, ‘who’s next?’ I’ve been waiting for this for almost six years for him to graduate, so we can show all the donors, all the sponsors, whoever wants to come up here on April 21-22, that we are going to have a great tournament here at Reflection Bay.”
