Madison Murr from Cal State San Marcos finished at 14-under par at Boulder Creek Golf Club to win the 2025 NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championship. The win was her fifth of the season and helped her team to a second seed in Medal Match Play, which will conclude May 17, 2025.
“I really don’t think this has set in yet,” the 22-year-old Murr said in the San Diego Tribune. “I was trying to stay aggressive during the tournament. “My coaches have been amazing. I’m grateful for them and my teammates. They were all huge in my success.”
Murr recorded five birdies and two bogeys in her final round to win by three strokes, defeating second-place Gracie Grant of Dallas Baptist to become the school’s second national golf champion.
Murr, a redshirt senior, is a two-time All American and has 10 total wins in her career. She has also racked up many academic honors.
Boulder Creek Golf Club is once again showing well in the national spotlight. The course annually hosts top college, high school and amateur events, and also qualifying for Las Vegas’ PGA Tour event, the Shriners Children’s Open.
In 2024, Boulder Creek hosted the Division III Men’s Golf Championships with Methodist won its 14th NCAA title.
