Founded in 2013 by the Masters Tournament, the USGA, and The PGA of America, the Drive, Chip and Putt Championship is a free, nationwide junior golf development program designed to grow the game in positive ways. Open to boys and girls ages 7–15, the competition encourages creativity, confidence, and friendly competition through a series of local qualifying events held across the country.
For aspiring junior golfers in the Southwest, the journey toward the 2027 Championship begins this spring and summer with a great list of 2026 local qualifiers in Arizona and Nevada. These events serve as the crucial first step, giving young players the chance to test their skills against peers and advance through the championship’s progressive qualifying structure.
One of the most anticipated opportunities comes Thursday, June 18, when a local qualifier will be held at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort. Set against sweeping desert views and championship-caliber playing conditions, the Las Vegas event offers junior golfers a premier competitive environment. There are also other local qualifier events happening in Arizona from May-June.
Participants who advance through each qualifying stage in their respective age and gender categories earn an invitation to the National Finals, hosted at Augusta National Golf Club on the Sunday before the Masters Tournament and broadcast live on Golf Channel.
