Ryan Reaves, a former Vegas Golden Knights enforcer and fan favorite, attended a meet and greet at Topgolf Las Vegas to promote the Battle For Vegas Charity softball game. He talked golf and broke news about his recent trade to the hated San Jose Sharks.
He is just like the rest of us when it comes to golf. He can love it and hate it, hit a great shot then a bad one, and play great on one hole and screw up the next.
“My golf game? Oh man, it is an absolute rollercoaster,” Reaves said. “I can put some very good holes together, but my bad holes are atrocious. I don’t know if it was last summer or two summers ago, but I started birdie, par, birdie, birdie, par and then immediately went triple, double, triple bogey, you know what I mean? it’s like that.”
Yeah, we know what you mean …
Topgolf Las Vegas is a good hang for Reaves, and more than 200 fans came out to say hello to him and original Mis Fit Reilly Smith.
“It’s a good atmosphere,” Reaves said. “For people who don’t golf and for people who are great golfers, they’ll come out, have a couple drinks, it’s a good time.”
Topgolf Las Vegas features four stories of hitting bays, two swimming pools, VIP suites and cabanas, and is located in the heart of Las Vegas and connected to the MGM Grand.
Reaves is always quick to lend a helping hand when he can.
“Athletes have a platform and I think it’s important to use it to help the community,” Reaves said. “I like to help kids out. So, yeah, I think it’s important when you have some type of platform.”
