Golfweek Breaks News of LIV vs. PGA Tour Event In Vegas – And We Surmise Shadow Creek

Golfweek stirred up the golf world with news today of a huge match set for Vegas most likely in December between LIV Golf League stars Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau vs. Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, two of the PGA Tour’s best. But no official word about which course. We have confirmed it won’t be at the Wynn Las Vegas, site of other matches such as this, and our crystal ball points to Shadow Creek. Some in the know mentioned that a deal at Shadow Creek could pending. But there is no official confirmation of this.

“I’m thrilled to partner with Scottie in what promises to be an exciting duel against Bryson and Brooks in Vegas this December,” McIlroy wrote in a text message to Golfweek’s Eamon Lynch. “This isn’t just a contest between some of golf’s major champions; it’s an event designed to energize the fans. We’re all here to put on a great show and contribute to a goodwill event that brings the best together again.”

The Wynn Las Vegas was the site of the previous three matches, while Shadow Creek hosted the first one between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson for a cool $9 million.

More from Golfweek story:

“Brooks and Scottie are very excited to be a part of this unique event and look forward to sharing more soon,” said Blake Smith, who represents both Koepka and Scheffler.

Brett Falkoff, the agent for DeChambeau, said: “Bryson looks forward to competing in Las Vegas this December in an event that is sure to provide great entertainment for the fans.”

This event could be the start of a thawing between the two tours and word is that the negotiations between the two are ongoing and maybe this is a sign of a coming together? The PGA Tour needs to give the rights to the players to appear in the event, but no official word yet from the PGA Tour on this part of it.

All we know is you gotta love Vegas Golf.
