At Reflection Bay in Lake Las Vegas, the High Performance Golf Institute has become one of the most complete learning environments in Southern Nevada. The facility combines a championship practice complex with modern swing science through TrackMan 4 technology and former PGA Tour players leading the instruction.
The HPGI practice facility is perfect for honing swings, and golfers receive measurable feedback while working on practice holes, bunker areas, short game greens. The facility is expansive and all grass. Plus, on-course instruction at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Reflection Bay Golf Club.
The teaching staff features former PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions golfers Craig Barlow and Jeff Gallagher, who bring real competitive experience into every lesson. Their knowledge of scoring, preparation and performance gives players of all skill levels clear direction and confidence.
“Both Jeff and myself have played endless amounts of golf tournaments,” Barlow says. “We know the journey that it takes to play good golf. Whether you are a recreational golfer or a competitive golfer, we have been there. My goals are a bit different for a high handicapper and a low handicapper. My goal is to get a 15 handicap absolutely addicted to golf. My goal for a plus-five handicapper is help make his or her dream come true and to get the most out of themselves. I treat each differently, but with the same effort and attitude.”
Gallagher and Barlow know how to “play” the game, not just “swing” the game. There is a difference in the nuance.
“We both have a lot more to offer our students than the typical golf academy,” Gallagher says. “We teach our students how to be more than just a tournament player. We teach them how to become champions and how to play high-level golf tournaments.”
Also on staff is Bradley Keyer, a former college golf standout who is available for lessons and club fittings. The lead club fitter is Brendan Bergin, who boasts decades of Tour experience and unmatched fitting knowledge that will get the most out of your game.
“What we all do at HPGI is help people enjoy the game more,” Bergin says. “We are always thinking, planning and collaborating about how to get people to hit that one great shot … that one clean shot that everyone remembers, of hitting that golf ball in the middle of the club place and the feeling that gives a player.”
Also on staff is 25-year PGA of America professional Nicole Dutt Roberts, whose long history in Southern Nevada junior golf adds a proven development approach for both adults and juniors.
Dutt-Roberts leads the junior program while also offering private instruction and group clinics.
Reflection Bay Director of Operations Eric Dutt, a Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame member, says the vision of HPGI coming to fruition is a highlight of his long career in golf.
“Our vision has always been to create a golf ecosystem, and we have invested on every level to make that a reality,” Dutt says. “It’s rewarding to sit back and see how it has all come together and see the reaction of the golfers and how their games have improved.”
For golfers in Las Vegas who want meaningful improvement and lasting confidence, the High Performance Golf Institute has quickly become the place to learn the game the right way. The HPGI has become a haven for aspiring junior golfers, those playing in college, professional Tour players, and everyday golfers looking to improve.
