The @lexi, one of the biggest and most recognizable stars on the @lpga_tour, is in the field for the @shrinersopen to be played Oct. 12-15. It is a terrific move by the Shriners team led by @patlinuncg to increase awareness and attendance–and attention to the Shriners Children’s Hospitals mission.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lexi to the 2023 tournament,” said Patrick Lindsey, Executive Director of Shriners Children’s Open. “Shriners Children’s mission is to help all children live their best life regardless of what medical challenges lay in front of them. We are eager to have Lexi on the course and continue to break through barriers, just as our more than 1.5 million patients do every day.”
Thompson, 28, is known for her length off the tee and has represented the United States at six Solheim Cups, and was part of Team USA when golf returned to the Olympics in 2016. She has won 11 times on the LPGA Tour. She will be seventh woman ever to compete in a PGA TOUR event. LPGA Tour player Babe Didrikson Zaharias became the first woman to receive a sponsor exemption at The Cascades Open in 1935. Thompson will be the first female to compete since Brittany Lincicome at the 2018 Barbasol Championship.
“Shriners Children’s support of children with specialty pediatric medical challenges for over 100 years is inspiring, and as we all know, these conditions do not discriminate” said Thompson. “I’m hopeful that my ability to play with the men next week at the Shriners Children’s Open sends a great message to the young women that you can chase your dream regardless of how hard it is. I cannot wait to come to the city of Las Vegas and I’m grateful to Shriners Children’s for this opportunity to spend the week alongside these inspirational kids.”.
In a city of bold moves and an organization that saves lives on a daily basis free of charge, we applaud the inclusion of Thompson.
The Las Vegas Country Club has a DEEP history…
Back in the day, the @pgatour played there and it was neutral ground for mobsters, Law enforcement, politicians, celebrities, business people, hoteliers, and more .
And ole @deanmartinofficial played the course daily when it first opened in 1967–even before it officially opened.
Many of the history walk photos were found during the writing of THE LAS VEGAS COUNTRY CLUB-Chronicle of an Icon.
The LVCC is still a special place to be in Vegas.
It has been 25 years since the 1998 @unlvrebelgolf men’s team won the @ncaa title.
The team and coaches were back together again @allegiantstadium during the @unlvfootball game …
Also, former head coach Dwaine Knight will be inducted into the upcoming class of the @unlvathletics Hall of Fame
finish like a REBEL!
The @harryhall Hall played the @shrinersopen on a sponsor exemption awarded by tourney director @patlinuncg a couple years ago and has parlayed that into full-time @pgatour status ...
Now he is ready for the next step ... a W on the big tour.
Maybe doing it in front of the hometown fans is meant to be in a couple weeks. It would be a perfect story for the former @unlvrebelgolf star

Baseball Hall of Famer Rollie Fingers estimates he has played in hundreds of charity scrambles, helping to raise MILLIONS of dollars.
This week, Rollie played in the @inspiringchildren Foundation event at @reflectionbaylv @lakelasvegas and shared after the round that he is just like all of us ... that ONE shot will bring us back every time.
Rollie, one of the best closers in history, hit some good shots throughout the day, and really showed out when he WON closest to the pin on a par 3 when he stuck a 150-yard shot to 5 feet.

The Sunrise
The Sunrise course measures a total of 3,426 yards from the championship tees. Sunrise requires a strong approach to avoid fairway bunkers, however it is the most forgiving in the width of all fairways and the few out of bound areas that can be found.
The Lakes Course
The Lakes nine is just as you would expect with lakes, creeks and waterfall features, water comes into play on 6 out of the 9 holes. With lakes, waterfalls, floral patterns of our Club logo and one incredibly difficult green Lakes #3 offers you a spectacular golf hole and memorable design. Lakes rates as the most difficult of the three nines, but as you will see, it also makes for the most enjoyment.
The Canyon Course
The Canyon Course rates as the longest of the three nines, measuring 3,576 from the championship tees and is the sentimental favorite of most of the Members according to those who would know at Spanish Trail.
Corporate, national and social memberships are available in addition to full golf.
