Aliante Hosts NCAA PacWest Division II Men and Women’s Golf Championships

Aliante Golf Club is located in the shadows of Aliante Station Casino in North Las Vegas, and sometimes flies under the radar. But the course that is owned and operated by the City of North Las Vegas is consistently in good condition and recently hosted the Men’s and Women’s PacWest Division II Conference Golf Championships.

The Biola women won while Karis Haltom earned the medalist playing for the winning team. Hawaii-Hilo won the men’s title led by medalist Dylan Bercan. It was back-to-back-to-back conference titles for Hawaii-Hilo.

“Aliante normally hosts corporate and charity events with a few college and High School events throughout the year in addition to the Southern Nevada Golf Association, but the PacWest event was one of the strongest fields we have been associated with,” says Bill Rowden, general manager. “The PacWest committee basically set the course up from the tips, so it was a challenge for the players. The PacWest did a fantastic job with a full field for the four days including the practice round. The course was not easy and played fairly long at approximately 7,000 yards and the greens were fast. It was a first-class group of players, coaches and officials.  We definitely look forward to hosting it again.”

The Biola Eagles women’s golf team continued their stellar 2024–25 campaign with a blazing success in the desert of North Las Vegas, securing their third Pacific West Conference Women’s Golf Championship in the past four years.

In their three day route to doing so, the team set a PacWest record for the lowest score on an 18 hole course with a -4, and threatened Cal Baptists’s three round record of +11, only missing it by five strokes.

Sophomore Karis Haltom secured her first career tournament victory, riding an excellent final day to a +2 mark and a PacWest Individual Tournament by one stroke.
