Reflection Bay at Lake Las Vegas Hosts Rocky Mountain College Event

Once again, the Jack Nicklaus-designed Reflection Bay Golf Club at Lake Las Vegas hosted the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate. Winning the team titles were the men and women from Univ. of British Columbia.

Winning medalist titles were Bo Brown (UBC, women) and Colby Watkins (OUAZ).

“It’s really special because I’m a junior, so I’ve been trying to win for a couple years now,” Brown said. “I finally was able to get it done, so it’s really exciting for me. I’m really grateful, just even getting to play desert golf is just so different from what we get to at home. It’s just awesome to get to come down here.”

The event is hosted by Rocky Mountain College, a program that has been taken under the wing of the Reflection Bay team led by Eric Dutt, VP of Operations

“We’re truly blessed for Reflection Bay and Eric to have us down here each year and to provide a top-notch golf tournament,” said Nathan Bailey, Rocky Mountain head coach. “It is truly special for the NAIA and for our program to be able to play here.”

The UBC Thunderbirds golf teams both earned their first victories of 2024 in a combined sweep of the RMC Intercollegiate at Reflection Bay Golf Club, hosted by Rocky Mountain College.

For the women’s team, the result never appeared in doubt. NAIA No.1-ranked UBC led from start to finish, firing a combined +29 (300-294-299) to win the event by a whopping 36 strokes over second place OUAZ, and end at least 47 strokes ahead of the rest of the eight-team field.
