Never a day goes by without huge sports news emanating from the sports and entertainment capital of the world. Fresh of the Oakland A’s securing public funding to move to Vegas comes word that Netflix plans to bring a live golf event featuring PGA Tour and Formula 1 stars to Vegas.
The Wall St. Journal reported that the event is scheduled for the fall and is rumored to be in Las Vegas. The tournament looks to combine stars from two of the company’s most popular sporting docuseries, Full Swing and Formula 1’s Drive to Survive.
The concept of the Full Swing series that follows PGA Tour players was officially hatched during a round of golf at Shadow Creek. Playing that day were series creator Chad Mumm, and PGA Tour executives Chris Wandell, Tom Jeffs and Mike Pinckes. Season two of Full Swing has been confirmed and Mumm has said cameras were rolling when the recent PGA Tour and PIF deal was announced out of nowhere.
