So Nice, the CasaBlanca in Mesquite Is Holding II-Man Golf Tournament Twice

It seems like success comes easy for the CasaBlanca when it comes to hosting popular golf tournaments. More proof of this comes with the playing of the inaugural CasaBlanca II-Man Spring Tournament May 5-7 in Mesquite, Nev. The tournament was created because of the demand created by the long-running CasaBlanca II-Man Fall Tournament. Max capacity is 150 teams and $6,000 is up for grabs in each flight of 25 teams.

“The new Spring II-Man tournament is a perfect addition to our collection of very successful golf tournaments that Mesquite as a world-class golf destination has become known for and tournaments such as this are a perfect way to showcase the hospitality we have here in Mesquite and the CasaBlanca,” said Christian Adderson, tournament director for Mesquite Gaming. “In 2022, Mesquite Gaming presented our most ambitious and successful golf tournament schedule ever and won Gold Awards for the quality of our courses. The II-Man Fall Tournament was probably the most fun of all, so we decided to introduce a II-Man Spring version to allow more players and spectators to experience its entertaining and unique competitive format.”

Adderson knows of what he speaks because he also oversees the annually sold-out Nevada Open that has a reputation as a “major” on the mini-tour professional circuit. And also the epic Mesquite Amateur, one of the largest amateur events in the United States. Plus a host of other tournaments.

Now, he looks forward to the II-Man spring tournament.

“What players get is the confidence in knowing that we are very experienced hosts of these great tournaments, and the players know they will get the professional details that we put into the events because we understand the details and the value are what makes these tournaments a success,” Adderson said. “I think our experience and knowledge and the value we offer is why we have seen the growth in these tournaments. It is also why we get so people coming back and also telling their friends to join them. Word of mouth is the highest praise you can get and we love to see all of our returning players each year. We expect the same for the Spring II-Man and see many who have played in the Fall II-Man or other tournaments have already made plans to join us in the first year.”

Adderson says the tournament is already half sold out with 75 teams registered. A full sell-out is expected and that will mean six flights for players of all abilities. And it also means teams can be made up of different ages including father and sons, father and daughters, husband and wife, buddie and buddie, or any combination.

The CasaBlanca II-Man Spring will showcase a different format for each golf course, allowing both amateur and professional golfers to compete with varying handicaps. The tournament begins with a welcome reception and pairing party for participants. Cost is $500 per player or $1,000 per team of two players. The Flights are determined by age group and also handicap index, and all levels of golfers are welcome. Click for a complete listing of all II-Man Spring rules.

The tournament entry fee includes a Welcome Pairings Party, Three tournament rounds of golf and an Awards banquet on Sunday from  6 pm-8 pm in the CasaBlanca Grand Ballroom.

“It’s just a lot of fun, a lot of nice people, and it’s great golf and it’s just a fun tournament,” says Lilly Reeves, a past participant in the Fall II-Man. Her involvement also shows that there is a women’s flight despite the II-Man moniker.

The Spring competition will be held on three championship courses – CasaBlanca Golf Club, Palms Golf Club, and Falcon Ridge Golf Club.

The Palms Golf Club will feature a two-man scramble format, using 25 percent of the team’s combined handicap. The Palms Golf Club offers dramatic and scenic elevation changes along the Virgin River wetlands and a special par-five hole with a 114-foot drop to the fairway.

Falcon Ridge Golf Club will feature a best-ball format and each player will receive their full course handicap. Falcon Ridge is a Kelby Hughes/Cresent Hardy design with high mesa views and numerous water features.

The CasaBlanca Golf Club will host the modified alternate shot format and use 25 percent of the combined team handicap. The CasaBlanca feature an 18-hole, 7,011-yard championship course, designed by Cal Olson.
