Time for the 2023 “The Show” at Spanish Trail for UNLV Women’s Golf

It’s time for the UNLV women’s golf team to put on a show at “The Show”, the team’s annual event at their home facility, Spanish Trail Country Club.  The Rebels are defending champs for The Show from, which is scheduled for Monday-Tuesday, Feb. 20-21 and is co-hosted by Furman. Spectators are welcome and tee times begin each day with 11 am shotgun starts.

Last season, the Rebels combined to shoot a 4-under 860 en route to hoisting the event’s first trophy. The Scarlet & Gray saw its entire lineup finish among the top 20, including senior Nicole Lorup’s (-1) third-place finish to lead this year’s squad’s returners. The Rebels feature several local Las Vegas golfers on the team including Veronica Joels, McKenzi Hall, Morgan Goldstein and Gracie Olkowskli.

THE FIELD: There will be 15 teams competing in the 54-hole tournament. Joining the Rebels and co-host Furman are Charlotte, Denver, Kent State, Mississippi State, UNR, New Mexico, North Florida, Old Dominion, Pepperdine, Purdue, South Florida, Texas State and Washington State.

STARTING LINEUP: UNLV’s lineup includes super senior Veronica Joels, freshman Thienna Huynh, sophomore Toa Yokoyama, Lorup and sophomore McKenzi Hall. Senior Morgan Goldstein, along with juniors Gracie Olkowski and junior Madeleine Laux will be competing as individuals.

SCHEDULE: The tournament begins with 36 holes on Monday, followed by 18 holes during Tuesday’s final round. Each day will begin with an 8:30 a.m. PT shotgun start.
