Mad Apple Debuts at New York- New York as Cirque Du Soleil’s Next Vegas Act

Sometimes here at the Insider, we focus off the course because golfers, local and visitors, enjoy shows, dinners, vactions and so much more. Here’s a sneak peak at the new Mad Apple show at New York New York by Cirque Du Soleil.

According to show execs, Mad Apple “is a high-energy cocktail of comedy, music, dance and high-flying acrobatics that delivers New York’s wildest night out under the Vegas lights.”

The show also includes stand-up comedy, a first in a Cirque du Soleil show. Comedians Brad Williams and Harrison Greenbaum, and freestyle comedy rapper Chris Turner, entertain guests with on-the-spot, often rowdy improvs. Live music also spotlights the best of New York City music past and present led by musical director Xharlie Black, five lead vocalists and a five-piece band.

Keeping with what Cirque does best, six daring acrobatic acts and 48 cast members from around the world blend the circus, live entertainment and New York nightlife culture into the show.

On TripAdvisor, Titannia from Canada, wrote this review:

“This is now my favourite cirque show ever! The production was top notch. The performers before the show started were hilarious. The acts were amazing and the comedians were absolutely funny. The band, singers, dancers and acrobats were the best. The show was so entertaining and fast paced. The vibe was energetic and fun. I would go see it again. My husband even liked it and he isn’t one to enjoy singing and dancing. It has something for everyone.”

Mad Apple was co-created by by Simon Painter and Neil Dorward, Mad Apple is the first show in collaboration between Cirque du Soleil and The Works, Painter’s company that was purchased by Cirque du Soleil in 2019.

“We are thrilled to get the joyous Mad Apple party started in Las Vegas,” says Painter. “From the moment guests enter the theater, they are whisked away to one of the most beloved cities in the world with a show that fuses hilarious acts from multiple comedians and daring acrobatics with the entertainment and eclecticism of New York City. It’s a crazy celebration straight away, and we can’t wait for guests from around the world to see it.”

A note, get there early. Mad Apple entertains guests before the show even begins. Forty-five minutes before the curtain rises, guests are welcomed into the theater for a pre-show party with a modern-day Studio 54 vibe complete with boozy libations at the DownStage and UpStage Bars, flair bartenders, up-close magicians and entertainers, and live music.
