Primm Valley Hosts Official Kickoff to 2022 SNGA Season

It’s time to kickoff the 2022 Southern Nevada Golf Association season the Tom Fazio-designed Primm Valley Lakes course will be played during the Primm Valley Amateur Feb. 19-20. The 2022 Tournament of Champions was played earlier in February, but the PV event is the first official event of the season.

“We are proud to work with the SNGA to keep amateur golf going strong in Southern Nevada,” says Derek Hunter, Elite Golf vice president of operations. “Keith Flatt, owner of Elite Golf, was highly involved in junior and amateur golf back in his youth, as was I, and we think it is an important part of the game and to grow the game for future generations. We are always happy to help the SNGA and SNJGA.”

Elite Golf manages the two Tom Fazio courses at Primm Valley. The Desert course is the sister layout to the Lakes layout. The courses are open to the public.

In 2021, Danny Tiscareno won the championship division while Jim Pliska earned the senior gross title. Steven Fink won the Silver gross title and went on to win the Silver Division Player of the Year award.

“It was my first time at Primm Valley and after the practice round I love the course,” said Tiscareno, a sophomore at USC at the time of his victory. “I just had a feeling I might win.”

On the net side, Michael Godfrey (regular net), Colin McTernan (senior) and Loren Little (Silver) earned titles.

Primm Valley is located on the California and Nevada state border and near the town of Primm, which features Primm Valley Resort, Whiskey Pete’s and Buffalo Bill’s.

NOTE: Due to poor playing conditions, a life, clean and place rule was put in effect throughout the general area of the course.
