Las Vegas National, located just minutes away from the Las Vegas Strip, is one of the city’s most historic layouts. The Bert Stamps designed course opened in 1961 and has been a favorite of locals and visitors for more than 50 years. The PGA Tour and LPGA Tour have played it–including in 1996 when Tiger Woods shot 70 en route to his first PGA Tour win–and it was the hang out for Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr. and the Rat Pack.

“It’s real simple and easy to get here and we have a great golf course with great value,” says Las Vegas Golf Hall of Famer Joe Kelly, who also is the course’s director of sales and marketing.

The par 71 layout plays just over 6,700 yards from the tips, but with multiple sets of tees it’s playable for everyone from pros to beginners. And mature pines all over the course provide sweet shade on those hotter days, something not many other Vegas courses can boast.

And that’s just the first place where the choices start to come into play.

Want to play just nine holes because of time or other constraints? They have a nine-hole rate available early in the morning.

Looking for the best rates? They’ve got them here with an 18-hole round available for locals for as low as $39 for 18 holes (depending on the day and time of play).

Like what you see and want to play more often? They have a year-long player’s card that lets players (and guests) tee it up at budget-friendly rates seven days a week.

“We have an annual pass for under $100 where golfers can play at reduced rates,” Kelly added. “And if they buy a $4,000 pass (includes green fees, range balls and reduced rates for members’ guests), they can play every day of the year with the golf cart included.”

For visitors, the National rates also provide some of the top Vegas golf values available and depending upon season can be as low as $49. Rates for visitors max out at no more than $139, prime time.

Looking for a course you can walk instead of taking a cart? No problem as many players choose the option of walking and combining their golf outing with exercise. And they also give players the chance to rent one of their golfboards and cruise around the course surf-board style. Plus they also offer the revolutionary Golf Boards.

Las Vegas National is also home to the Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame. From equipment to trophies to an historic time-line of Vegas’ golf history, the Hall of Fame exhibit in the clubhouse will let visitors check out the evolution of golf in the area, Vegas-style.

“There’s no reason for players not to come out,” Kelly said. “It’s just a fun place to be and an enjoyable and challenging course.”
