Las Vegas Paiute Sweeps GolfAdvisor Nevada Rankings

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (March 4, 2018)—In the immortal words of Lebron James when he joined the Miami Heat, ” not one, not two, not three …). The King was boasting about how NBA titles he would win, but the quote fits for the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort. Each of the three Pete Dye courses at the resort earned the top three spots in the rankings for The Top 20 Courses in the state of Nevada in 2017 by the respected GolfAdvisor.com. Out of 71 courses receiving votes the Wolf, Sun Mountain and Snow Mountain courses were ranked 1-2-3 and the rankings are based on reader reviews. — By Bill Bowman, Las Vegas Golf Insider staff.

The ratings are no fluke and were earned. Overall, the 71 golf courses in the state received a total of more than 2,500 reviews in 2017. Add up the numbers at the end of the day (or, in this case, the end of the year) and you’ve got a trifecta of golf paradise taking center stage at the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort.

“We are extremely honored and humbled to have finished as the Top 3 courses in Nevada for 2017 on Golf Advisor,” said Ayeesha McKeany, director of marketing. “It’s a true testament of our staff here and the hard work they put in day in and day out to provide our customers with the best experience possible.”

At the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort there are three pristine Pete Dye 18-hole layouts. The three courses–Snow Mountain, Sun Mountain and The Wolf–are located in northwest Las Vegas. Tranquil surroundings, risk/reward golf holes, Dye’s classic railroad tie bunkering and dynamic water features are all right here in 54 holes of golf splendor.

The Wolf Course is No. 1 on the list (along with being No. 34 on the list of top 50 courses in the United States). Topping out at a jaw-dropping 7,604 yards of golf challenge, this one’s a test from start to finish. But where it really shows its teeth is on the tee box of the par-3 15th. This scenic and Dye-abolical hole plays to an island green from an elevated tee (from the tips) that will put players’ shot-making skills, as well as their nerves, on display.

At Sun Mountain, No. 2 on the list, players will take on 7,112 yards of golf that features a pair of par-4 finishing holes that will see how aggressive players want to be. The 9th and 18th holes are water-laden and finishing up with a par (or birdie) on either or both of these holes is easier said than done.

At No. 3 on the list is Snow Mountain. This one’s the resort’s original course and plays to just under 7,100 yards. The course features rolling fairways and the par 3 hole designs are some of the best around.
