Playing Jack Nicklaus’ Coyote Springs Can help Keep New Year’s Resolutions

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Jan. 8, 2018)–We’re starting a new year with plenty of resolutions. Here are three that will be on many lists: Travel more. Budget finances better. Play more golf. Well, lucky for you we have a golf destination that can encompass all three of those resolutions in one shot–Coyote Springs Golf Club. — By Bill Bowman, Las Vegas Golf Insider staff.

This Jack Nicklaus Signature course is an eye-popping, game-testing golf course. Located an hour north of Las Vegas (a travel portion of the 2018 resolution), this resort-style course is a solid value (good for the budget part of the resolution) and offers players the chance to play a replay afternoon round free when you also reserve a tee time before 10 a.m. (Helping with the play more golf resolution). There, you’ve already accomplished a trio of 2018 resolutions and we’re still only in January.

Coyote Springs is a par-72 layout reaching a jaw-dropping 7,471 yards from the tips. But, with numerous sets of tees, everyone can find a length that suits their game.

The big factor is that, despite being in the desert, water comes into play on 11 of the holes and more than 100 bunkers add to the beauty and the challenge.

And while there are 18 gorgeous holes, the 9th and 18th holes, which sit side-by-side, offer great views and finish each nine in memorable fashion.

What both of the par 4s lack in length (the 9th is 410 yards while the 18th is just 375 yards), they more than make up for in shot making tests. The holes mirror each other as the 9th is a dog-leg left while the 18th is a dog-leg right. A huge pond runs between the holes and comes into play on both the tee shot and the second shot on each hole. Add in a couple of bunkers and players will find golf holes that require accuracy rather than brute strength to be successful.

There you have it: A golf course that crosses off three of many players’ 2018 New Year’s resolutions. And here you thought these resolutions would be tough.
